「レオ・トレーナー作曲コンクール」

　アメリカ・ヴィオラ・ダ・ガンバ協会による、ヴィオラ・ダ・ガンバのための新しい音楽作品の コンクールが開催されます。
　このコンクールは、レオ・トレーナー氏が「ガンバのためのコンテンポラリーな曲作りに役立ててほしい」と日本ヴィオラ・ダ・ガンバ協会に基金を託されたことから始まり、第1回（1984年）・第2回（1986年）は東京で開催されました。その後、コンクールは、アメリカ・ヴィオラ・ダ・ガンバ協会に全権を委譲し今日に至りますが、日本ヴィオラ・ダ・ガンバ協会は、2000年に寄付をしています。


Leo M. Traynor Competition for New Viol Music

The Viola da Gamba Society of America (VdGSA) is sponsoring the Ninth International Leo M. Traynor Composition Competition for new music for viols.

  • The original compositions are to be written for a consort of three to six viols.
  • No piece may exceed 4-5 minutes.
  • Any style of composition will be considered, as the VdGSA is interested in a broad range of music.
  • Compositions must be accessible to experienced amateur viol players, as the VdGSA hopes that the music will frequently be played by its many members.
  • Entries are due by December 1, 2008. Only one entry per person will be accepted.
